About Me
Life is a beautiful journey, but there are moments when it can seem too overwhelming to navigate it alone. Sometimes you need to reach out to someone who can help you find your way forward.
I am a mental health therapist on a mission to help heal the hearts and minds of others. As a former high school teacher, I have an extensive understanding of the daily stress experienced by children and adolescents. Helping to guide them through these stressors while strengthening their mental and emotional perseverance is my gift. I am a culturally competent counselor who is professionally fluent in English and Portuguese and proficient in Spanish and Italian. I find true joy in working with clients from diverse backgrounds, especially those who may be underserved in the mental health community.
I also have experience working with young adults and the elderly, as well as children and adolescents who have been victims of abuse, abandonment, and neglect. Children are only children for a few fleeting years, and this short but precious time can determine their success and well–being for the next several decades. My professional and personal experience with trauma enables me to reach the depths of empathy required to help these children evolve from victims into survivors.
I provide individual therapy, family therapy, and parental consultations in my practice. I have extensive training in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, mood instability, and sand/play therapies. I work with the goal of building a strong and trusting therapeutic alliance so that individuals under my care can feel safe, respected, and accepted unconditionally. This therapeutic alliance enables an individual to begin the challenging but rewarding therapeutic process.
Under my care, you are not a number in a system. You are a person who deserves a therapist’s complete attention, empathy, and commitment.
If you feel weighed down by feelings of uncertainty or distress, come and see me. Together, we can work to identify and treat the root causes of your difficulties and create a new opportunity for a life with rich experiences and joyful memories.
